The Hunterdon county 4-H and Agricultural fair lasted from August 19-23. On the 19th we showed in the Hunterdon County Goat show. Sunrise Hill Lucy was first in her class and got best of breed fiber goat. Her kid Little Goat Hill Eleanor Rigby was also first in her class and was reserve best of breed fiber goat. In the dairy classes, Little Goat Hill Norah'easter was first in her class of Nigerian Dwarf doelings ages 0-4 months. On the 20th was the New Jersey State 4-H Goat Show. In the showmanship classes (judged on grooming of the animal, knowledge of the showman, ect) Bailey B and Aisling Farm Norah were shown and took 2nd and 4th respectively. In the dairy classes Little Goat Hill Norah'easter once again was first in her class. Aisling Farm Grainne was second in her class of Nigerian Dwarf milkers 3 years and under 5, and Aisling Farm Norah was third in the same class. Little Goat Hill Pluto's Heart took second in his class of baby dairy whethers. On the 21rst was the Goat Olympics. This fun even has games for younger members and the public such as egg and spoon races. Afterwards 4-H'ers bring their goats into the ring and some goats do tricks. Bailey B did tricks such as walking on his hind legs and jumping hurdles. On the 22nd was a goat breed parade. Little Goat Hill Eleanor Rigby was brought out to the show ring once again to show off her fiber. The public learned about different breeds of goats and got to ask questions the 4-H club members questions at the end. The 23rd was the last day of the fair. Bailey B took walks around the fairgrounds sporting a tye-dye shirt. He made an appearance at the main stage with his favorite band, the Large Flower Heads.
